Founding Faculty Announcement

In the words of G.K. Chesterton, we seek to teach our students that "there is a whole truth of things and that in knowing and speaking it we are happy."

Through the study of art, music, literature, language, history, mathematics, science, philosophy and religion, we want to prepare our students to think both rationally and creatively, to defend their faith, to contribute positively to society, to promote a culture of life.We have searched diligently for faculty who will eagerly join us in preparing our children for both temporal life and eternal life: to be good citizens and to be saints.

We are thrilled to announce four founding faculty members of Chesterton Academy of St. Louis who bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion to our community. They embody the principles of Catholic classical education and share our commitment to forming articulate, clear-thinking, well-rounded, and, very importantly, joyful human beings.

Bernadette Lamb will be joining Chesterton Academy of St. Louis as a full-time faculty member, teaching Studio Art and Art History to our 9th and 10th graders, as well as teaching in the humanities.

As an artist and academic, I wholeheartedly support Chesterton Academy’s integrated approach in pursuit of building up the Kingdom of God. Above all, I want to invite my students to follow St. John Paul II’s exhortation in his Letter to Artists—that, whether or not they pursue careers in the arts, they make masterpieces of their lives.”

Mark Baker will be joining Chesterton Academy of St. Louis as a full-time faculty member, teaching in the areas of Math and Science.

I have been increasingly drawn to classical education and I am even more excited about the emphasis on true Catholic Identity and the opportunity to go to daily mass as part of the school day.”

Maria Romine will be joining Chesterton Academy of St. Louis as a part-time faculty member, directing 10th grade Drama.

Having witnessed the first Chesterton Academy through its various stages of growth, I am excited for the opportunity to combine my love of the stage, my love of the Catholic faith, and my love of G.K. Chesterton as a founding faculty member at Chesterton Academy of St. Louis.”

Jeffery Wisniewski will be joining Chesterton Academy of St. Louis as a part-time faculty member, directing Choir, which includes music theory and history, for our 9th and 10th graders.

I am sincerely passionate about teaching authentic music in a Catholic environment, beautiful liturgies, and a healthy singing pedagogy. I am also most impressed that music and the other fine arts are counted among the core curriculum rather than a nice bonus.”
