Competition and Camaraderie

Future Chesterton students got to know each other through some healthy competition and fellowship at our Middle School Sports Night on July 24th. Since new students were constantly being added to the kickball game, it was difficult to determine a clear winner, but it seems Team Blue came out on top in the last inning, winning a gaggle of water balloons. While Team Orange made a good showing, Team Blue representatives also dominated the bottle flip competition, securing first dibs on the popsicles. Both teams showed great sportsmanship.

Rachel Martin, 2018 graduate of Chesterton Academy of the Twin Cities, shared her experience and answered their questions, which ranged from "What was your favorite class?" and "Tell us about the trip to Rome" to "How long is the lunch period?" Afterwards, the parents got a chance to ask Rachel questions while the students played an epic game of capture the flag.

Capture the flag went back and forth for quite a while, requiring a transition to sudden death mode. Even then, it ended in a tie as both Team Blue and Team Orange had players break through and grab the other's flag at the same time! After graciously sharing the prestigious White Horse Cup, students regrouped for more popsicles and chips and went home with some Chesterton swag.

Thanks to all who could make it and especially to Rachel for sharing her time and experience with us! There will be another opportunity to hear about Chesterton Academy of St. Louis August 25th at Longview Farm, so spread the word!
