The Sophomore Drama class will present Pygmalion on Friday, October 23 at 1:30pm and 7pm at Chesterton Academy of St. Louis.
"Pygmalion" by George Bernard Shaw is a tale of transformation and class. Eliza Doolittle, who is a Cockney flower peddler in the Convent Garden district, seeks out the assistance of Professor Henry Higgins, who is an expert in dialects and grammar so that she can improve her station in life. Higgins is prompted by a bet with his comrade in linguistics, Colonel Pickering, to pass Eliza off as a Duchess at a ball in 6 months. Can Eliza fool the upper class into thinking that she really is a Duchess?
